Hi guys, ive been reading for hrs and basically want to know which card should I get for my R3 to replace my now dead 580m. I cant seem to find info if the 8970m will work coming from a 580m. The 8970m is $200 cheaper for me to buy but im guessing I need a new heatsink too?

i know that R3 had problems with supproting 780M, 8970m should be plug/play,

if you want to save money go for 8970, if 780M is plug/play then go for Nvidia

I don't want the 780. Its either the 680 or 8970. But a dealer told me the 8970 may not work.

The 7970M works fine in the R3, so the 8970M should work as well.

I got the 8970m to work in an R3. I had to change the vbios in order for it to work though. If you buy one, you can message me and I'll let you know which vbios worked and didn't work. You won't be able to use enduro.

I'm liking mine BTW, I still need to post about it, but I've been busy, and setting my free time aside to actually playing games.
