    Hi guys, I'm testing my new M17x R4 with 3D Mark 11.

Today, I did a clean install of the drivers (310.90) but doesn't change anything. Same score...

I will upload some photos, let me know if the score is low or not.

    Thank you,

The Graphics score could be higher, but Physics looks good. I wouldn't consider it "low" though.

How could I get better score in graphics without OC?

I'm testing the PC so I need to know if there is something wrong.

In notebookcheck max score is with OC?

    3DMark 11 - Performance GPU 1280x720

    min: 5762 avg: 6242 (56%) max: 7214 point

    3DMark 11 - Performance GPU 1280x720

    min: 5762 avg: 6242 (56%) max: 7214 points

Average Performance GPU is 6242 and mine is 5942, why? :(

    Thanks guys.

In notebookcheck this PC has better score than my Alienware:

    Schenker XMG P702 PRO 3720QM 8192 MB 720 / 1800MHz 4096MB GDDR5, Optimus ForceWare 302.71 / 302.72

    6025 --> Performance GPU

I've got better processor, same RAM, same video card (except for the 4gb dedicated) and better drivers.

SSD affects to the graphic score?

No, solid state drives shouldn't affect your graphics score.

Remember, it's just a synthetic benchmark. As long as it's in the ballbark range of other 680ms, your system is running fine. Some cards score better than others, and your results will vary each time you run the test. Normally stock 680ms score in the 6k-6.5k range in 3DMark11, so you don't have anything to worry about.

That score is perfectly fine. Maybe a bit on the low side but no significant issues. My score in my sig was on my first run, with a VERY minor OC...

I wonder, do drivers affect 3Dmark scores by much? If so, then my age old drivers back months ago shouldn't have such higher scores than him on 310.90
But still, scores are great.. nothing to worry about!

Yes, offcourse drivers affect the benchmark :)
3DMark is software en the cards are hardware.
The cards need software to understand instructions and that is what drivers do.
The more effecient the driver works the faster the card can proces instructions and this is litterly what benchmarks do.

When you compare your system score to someone elses, you need to know what driver they used.
usually newer is better but this is not always the case.

A small example is Far Cry 3:
The latest WHQL drivers used with a (desktop) GTX 680 (310.90) has worse frames per second (FPS) then the older WHQL 310.70 drivers.....
so as you can see, newer is definetly not always better.

I looked up the benchmark scores and those were made a long time ago.
Also when looking further you can see the same card beeing benched from 5900 to 7200 scores.....this is because the GPU core was set slower and faster then stock by the suppliers.

so again...your scores are fine :)

Just ran mine, just for piece of mind, I have similar specs but 3630QM and was installed on my HDD.

Got 6087. Although your WEI scores look higher than mine, my GPU ones are at 7.2

My score was 7,1 before the clean install of the drivers. Now I've got 7,8.

I have been playing some games... Crysis 2 Ultra (D11 + HD Textures) and Witcher 2 Ultra with ubersampling.
Playable fram rate, sometimes I notice some lag but not a big problem.

If you tell me the score is Ok then I will not change the PC :D

    Thank you guys.

I'd take those WEI scores with a grain of salt..........I have a 6990m that's getting a 7.6 in Graphics and Gaming graphics..........and you'll never convince me that a 680m is only marginally better than this thing.

I've seen posts from folks saying that Win 8 does not perform as well in bench tests so it's possible. It's also possible that Microsoft raised the bar again like they did when they went from a 5.9 max to a 7.9 max score. I don't know if that happened again or not but I wouldn't put it past Billy and his goons.

And for what it's worth, my 3d11 score was only 6108 when I got the 680 installed this evening so I wouldn't sweat it too much, you're definitely in the ballpark.

Pretty sure they just raise the scores so that you feel inadequate and spend money to upgrade.
