    Just got my m17x r3 .....was wondering how i can overclock it using msi afterburner ....as in what would be the safe clocks . Can anyone who has overclocked the m17x ...let me know the same ...thanks : )

    Good Stuff! :) I believe that TriXX is better for that. Make sure that you got good cooling and temps before you do the O.C. +1Rep.

    Just start out mild and increase the clocks slowly. Every card overclocks differently and clocks that are stable for someone else may not be stable for you. I'd recommend the following:

    675 core - try bumping it up to 775
    1000 memory - try bumping it up to 1125

    You may well be able to go higher on both, but just play around with it and see what works.

    So without overclocking i intalled bf2 (dont have bf3 yet :( ) ...and i was getting 32fps steady on max settings...on 1080p...is that ok ....or on the lower side ...dint wanna start a new thread so decided to post here .

    Those are perfectly fine numbers, the 6870m isn't really a high end card anymore, a new card is what would give you the best gaming performance boost. I know what it's like to squeeze all the power out of one card though :)
