Alright so yesterday I was updating programs and drivers and when i was finished I went over to a friends house and loaded up World of Warcraft. I was in Dalaran and all seemed fine so i queued up for a Warsong Gulch battleground. As soon as i got into the nature terrains I was presented with horrible artifacting. I changed settings from low to high, turned off shadow effects, antisoptric filtering, etc. hoping to get a change, but nothing seemed to help.

What i find peculiar is that i only noticed the artifacting while in areas with nature scenery (grass, trees, etc.). I did not see any artifacting while in cities. I uninstalled the AMD driver and reinstalled the one that came on the Resource DVD and that did not seem to help. I ran Furmark and didn't seem to have any issues with that and I tried Gears of War for a few minutes and didn't seem to have any artifacting with that game.

I'm a little confused as to what exactly is wrong here. I also threw a few other updated drivers on. Bluetooth, WiFi, etc. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hi

I had this issue once flying away from stormwind, all the trees on Elvin forest were flickering like crazy

On the CFG file that you can find on the W.T.F (had to put dots.. the board believe it is a bad word :D ) folder, serch for this line:

    SET gxDepthBits "16"

If it is set to 16, flickering will occur. Set it to 24 instead

Or in alternative, from within the game, open the console and type

    /console gxcolorbits 24 (enter)
    /console gxdepthbits 24 (enter)
    /console gxrestart (enter)

    Hope this will help

Well my file does not have a Set gxcolorbits or gxdepthbits. I have a set gxVSync and gxMultisample... Do you think maybe they changed something with the config file since you had done that?

Another issue I've noticed is that If i switch to DirectX11, it "stutters". It's like it misses frames and skips ahead at a constant rate. It's very weird and doesn't seem to bother if I run it with DirectX9.

Talked to Dell today and got the artifacting issue resolved. I re-installed the video driver, but this time i used a program to remove all the remains of the previously installed driver and it works great now. There were conflicting issues between the remains of the old driver and the new driver.
