When I go into the bios it says "discrete graphics 1 not detected" Also in GPU-Z in the bottom drop down menu it's only showing Intel HD Graphics. Does that sound like the video card is bricked or could it be the motherboard? When I try to install the Dell 6990 driver I get error messages. Dell is sending me a 6990 and a heatsink.Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like your 6990 bit the dust.. You'll find out soon enough if it's the motherboard when your new card arrives (99% chance it isn't IMO).

bricked card

Would you be willing to sell your old X backplate?
You'll get a new one with the heatsink I think, I'll pay all postage. I need one badly because mines broken lol. -
have you try re-seat the gc? i face this issue before, but after i re-seat the card... it work well.
-
Yes I tried about 10 times to reseat the card. Funny thing is it only started after I repasted the card. GeoCake you can have the xplate NC soon as i get my stuff. You just pay postage

You couldn't have had the system for more then a year you should still have a warranty on it, send that sucker in and get it replaced. I did that with my 6970

Yeah it's only 2 months old. Dell is sending me another 6990m plus heatsink.

Woohoo!!!

That is the risk of over clocking to benchmark.
Still the 6990 seems prone to failure. Mine died and I rarely overclocked it. -

They replaced my 6990 with a 580m since the 580 had a shorter wait time than the 6990. As it was I waited 3 weeks for a new card.
