Is that normal temp - 80C while playing crysis 2? Also 2860QM processor is getting 83C (IC diamond)
    My idle temp is 55-60C
I am on stock thermal paste.

So no need in repasting GPU? :)

Only if you want to hit say 76°C max

For reference, I get 72C max on the GPU in gaming or furmark, repasted with MX-4 and repadded.

80C seems about normal for stock paste. I think mine was around there prior to me working on it. It should be fine to leave as-is, unless you want to do any overclocking. If you plan on overclocking your card at all I would strongly suggest a full repaste and augmentation of thermal padding.

What type of pads and what thickness, was looking for some before and unsure of what to get.

Fujipoly 0.5 mm. I stacked multiple layers where necessary to replace the thicker pads. You could also order a couple different thicknesses.

I would strongly suggest a repaste, for the benefit of the life of your GPU and other internal components. Lower temps are always better.

Fujipoly .5 will work, but 1mm is easier to work with. The .5 is too thin and rips easy.

Heihachi, in general, your temps will drop ~10c with a repaste. 80c isn't horrible, especially if its already overclocked...actually, that's excellent for stock paste. You can leave it, but you will be in the lower 70's after a repaste.

you don't have to do anything, but a repaste is always recommended imo

ok, and i should replace thermal pads also on fujipoly 1mm right?

you probably don't need to replace the stock pads...i reused the stock pads with aftermarket paste. My stock pads are still in great condition. IMO, given your stellar temps, you will only need a repaste. and even then its only for safety and longevity.

if you want to see your total temps, look at the sensor tab in HWINFO64. They have 3 sensor readings. 2 of those are affected by the pads.

Ok, then im going to just repaste it. Do i need to totally plug out my videocard or just remove the heatsink? I have seen a video on youtube fore GPU repasting on m17x R3 - they're removing video card by pulling it up. Can i repaste without removing videocard?

Repasted with IC diamond blob method. My temps dropped for 3-4C... should i wait more? IC diamond has cure time?

UPDATE 1. Played crysis 2 for 2 hours - max temp was 73C, seems like temps dropped ok :)

Mine going upto 80C (Mx-4 repasted) when i play BF3, but everything depend on ambient temp. My room temp is around 25C-27C
