On stock clocks and with the laptop propped up, my 6990M idles at 60 - 65 degrees C. Today after about an hour of playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution (overclocked to 740/1000 via the CCC) The game froze up and crashed. I felt the back of the laptop and it was very hot, but of course that's subjective. By the time I brought the temps up my card read at 68 degrees C. Should this card be at those temps? I know 68 isn't that high, but it was probably good minute after the game crashed that it read those temps and the fan was running at full blast so i'm sure it was much hotter while I was actually gaming. The idle temps don't seem right to me. The game crash could have just been a fluke, but the temps concern me. I'm running the 12.8 drivers if that matters. Also, the fans are clean and do not have excess dust buildup.

Use Hwinfo to monitor your temperatures so you don't have to guess if your temperatures are high. 60/65 at idle is on the warm side, my 6970's idle in the low 40's high 30's. Also, room temperatures do play a big role in overall laptop temperatures.
