Wow, I'm asking a lot of questions over here :p

I'm considering buying the R3 with no 3D features, and no 120hz screen, and then replacing the screen. I wonder, if I were to suddenly wan't 3D on the awesome new screen, how possible would this be with a 6990m?

Don't I need an Nvidia card to be compatible with 3D?

No. Blu ray player for the content and a external 3D monitor or 3D TV.

Would I be able to play games in 3D? That really seems to be the only real reason I'd get 3D

On the external yes. Dont know how it will look on a 3D TV but a 3D monitor should be ok.

It should work, but with ati don't u need a compatible monitor and not just a 120hz screen?
