    Hi,

I have a friend that asked me to reinstall Windows 7 on his m17x R3. He has a 6990m inside.

I tried to install the latest AMD driver, but it didn't work. I tried the driver for this card available on Dell.ca, but still doesn't work.

The installation says that it was complete and a success, but when I reboot, I still can get a good resolution. When I check in device manager, there is a yellow mark with this message: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

I found on this forum that I have to install the driver for the 6970m and THEN upgrade via the Device Manager to the 6990m driver. The problem is when I try this step, it says that my driver is already up-to-date...

    Is the card dead?

    Sorry for my bad english.

    Thanks,
    Joce
