I just got the 6990m installed not too long ago. I feel like there's a little lag (very mild stuttering) while playing games online and on campaign mode.

    No FPS drops or anything.

Is something wrong with my card or is this the usual case of playing at 1080p resolutions? 3d mark Vantage and 3d mark 11 results seem to come out right.

I've tried both Dell and the 11.9 drivers.. I feel like there's a mild bit of discontinuity at times.

    Mouse stuttering... if that exists?

No stutter noted here. Could it be your new display mentioned in your sig?

no OC and regular temps...max temp that 've seen is 79 deg C

you mean the screen is causing it? + I wouldn't call it stutter. It's like how you lag online, like a frame goes missing or a microsecond pause and you continue from there onwards. Have you tried Crysis 2 online?

usually in my experience, if your temps are good, its probably the driver didn't install cleanly.

What happens if you drop the graphical IQ settings. Does it smooth out? Another reason could be that your IQ settings are too high for the game you are playing

YES..it does smooth out by a whole lot.

When the Details are set to Ultra..I experience a bit more of the mouse movement stuttering issue.

    nah crysis 2

BF3 was doing the same thing...until I installed the tactx mouse drivers, that fixed it.

Crysis 2 with the ultra textures? I think its not your laptop, but the game.

I'll post later with some custom tweaks that made my game run much better, but still kept the graphics looking nice. PS, I'm running crysis 2 on ultra with the Ultra texture pack (DX 11) and with the tweaks, it is completely smooth for me now. Also, 6990m OC'ed to 800/1100 while playing the game really helped
