    I saw this forum posted before, and i can't seem to find it, so i'll just ask it again. Is this laptop 7.1 ready??? Cuz im getting some soon.

    i know thats its 5.1 ready, maybe 7.1 2

    5.1 support - Yes. 7.1 support - No.

    If you plan on using HDMI audio, then the limitation would be your HDMI receiver or TV.

    You can get 7.1 by using the HDMI 1.4 port or the S/PDIF port.

    SPDIF aka Optical/Coaxial is actually limited to 5.1 via hardware. The cable itself has the capability but it is limited, nothing available today will allow true 7.1 over those, only HDMI.
