    Hi,
I took delivery of my new m17x R4 yesterday - manufacturer refurbishment so hopefully I am getting a lot more 'bang for buck'.

    useful specs info:
    3610 Processor
    256gb SSD
    750gb HD
    7970m Gfx Card
    16gb Ram

I have spent the evening sorting out the usual stuff and have read elsewhere on this forum that it makes sense to disable GFX chipset switching by using fn-F7 which I did.

Directly after reboot the bios screen, windows load screen and windows itself is all displayed as pure green screen (with yellow / white writing). I have downloaded the up to date drivers from Dell website and tried that but has made no difference (I have tried a number of reboots, fn-f7 etc post driver install to see if I can get it sorted).

If I turn gfx switching back on everything is ok. I have booted up World of Warcraft, put everything on ultra and it played smooth which would suggest the 7970m is kicking in (ie I guess it isn't broken / poorly installed). So I am now at a loss as to why its green when the intel card is disabled.

Any clever ideas? Only other option I can think is to clear it all down and go for a clean re-install which I am loathe to do unless necessary. I'd appreciate any advice / things to try to sort it out....

    Thanks in advance ;)

Hmmm just an update - went back into wow and was getting just 25fps - checked online and it seems that is what I should expect from the HD4000.

Given the above it does look and sound to me that the 7970 is not installed properly. I have removed and updated drivers and still no improvement, unless you have any cunning ideas I might have to go into battle with the reseller :/
