So super excited about the 7970M, even over my 580M. Pulled up World of Warcraft, 1920x1080 Ultra setting (AAx4) and got... 35 FPS sitting around in Stormwind. Seemed a little... underwelming. So now I am not certain if its the card or just my unreasonable expecations.

Thoughts? Anyone else with the new unit want to share thier real world experience with the 7970M and WoW. Maybe I got a slow card or something. :) Since GPU-Z doesn't seem to work with it yet, hard to monitor performance and load.

    Again, thanks for your comments!

Press Fn+F7 to turn off the integrated graphics and run solely on the 7970M. GPUZ also doesn't work with Intel's integrated graphics for me, but it'll work for the 7970M.

I get around 31 fps in Org with barely anyone around with everything cranked up, seemed kinda low as well.

Ahhhh apparently I was running on the HD4000 graphics chipset, CPUz reports I'm using the 7970M now after hitting Fn+F7 and rebooting, thanks!

46-50 fps, I have everything turned way up though, FSAA is maxed out, max shadows, aniso maxed, it's on Ultra, but I like running it in fullscreen windowed mode as well

In fullscreen mode w/vsync turned off I'm getting around 56-60fps

When you overclock it what fps should you expect to get? What speed should you overclock to? The max speed?

Cool, thanks. [Cyanide], or anyone else with a 7970 card, could you tell me how many instances of WoW you are able to load and play before it gets too laggy or unusable?

I'm pretty sure a high-end toaster could run WoW........the 7970 wouldnt even realize it was rendering anything.

If you oc it properly you should get a good 20% boost on safe clocks. For 2 hour gaming sessions

Right now im at a 19% improvement in 3dmark11 running an everyday overclock on my good old 6970 so 20% should not be a prob for a 7970

Just remember all card overclock differently, watch your temps make sure you dont surpass 85c under heavy load

a 20% overclock is only achieveable in a 7970m if you boost the voltage to 1.075v

i can run 3dmark11, Vantage and Unigine at 1ghz core on stock voltage...which is almost a 18% overclock over the stock 850mhz. But most cards aren't clocking that high. Most cards are running max 10-14% OC

I don't plan on overclocking anything as of this point, this laptop is already far more powerful that my desktop ever was. Once it hits a ceiling, then I'll consider it :p
