Anyone know of a way of resolving this? When Enduro is enabled the fans are really quiet but some ga,es lock out certain graphical settings when this is enabled and the FPS isnt as good. I can get a noticeable performance increase by only running on the AMD card but within seconds of launching a game the card cooling fan comes on full for several mins.

Its really annoying, I want to use the full potential of my card but the fan noise is really a big issue. Id like to try and manage this without any extra cooling stands for the system.

when running at full speed, the 100 watt cards need the fans to run so they can stay nice and cool. Not a lot you can do about that. You can setup a custom fan table using a HWINFO64, but I don't recommend it if you aren't familiar with such things.

Thanks for the response. I ran HW Monitor last night to check the temps and the GPU was sitting between 63-66C under full load. Fan gets noticibly louder around 60C and goes crazy when it reaches at least 62C.

The weird thing I find here is that some games run fine at max settings with switchable graphics enabled such as SWTOR, WoW and even Arkham City and the fan doesnt go crazy. Some other games dont work so well in that some options are greyed out but are active when switchable graphics are disabled but I dont get how the same games work okay via switchable graphics but make the fan go crazy when dedicated graphics are enabled.

have you done a temp comparison? Seems like the discrete card fan table isn't as aggressive when the IGPU is enabled.

Not yet, only had time to test it with the discreet video card, will test this after work and let you know how it goes. Im also going to revert back to an older driver as the fans were not as aggresive prior to installing 13.1 CCC Mobility drivers.

Interesting, as those are VERY aggressive tables for a mobile card, great temps but a bit overkill.

Okay so just done a comparison with Enduro enabled. The annoying thing is that HW Monitor sees the Intel GPU only when Enduro is enabled, even though the switchable graphics are set to High Performance. The temps were maxing out at around 62 C which is a couple of degrees lower than when Enduro is disabled(around 64-66 C Max). The fans were absolutely silent, I couldn't hear them at all to the point I was curious if the fans were even running. I disabled Enduro, rebooted and tested, again the temps were around the same but as soon as it hit around 60-62C there was a very obvious increase in fan speed, shortly followed by the hairdryer type effect where the fans are blasting full speed to pull the card to about 57-58C then stop for about 2 seconds as the the temp hits 60 again they start ramping up. It seems like the fans are not hitting a consistent RPM to keep the temp regulated, instead they see to be going full pelt every few seconds.

Do any of you guys have any guidelines on custom thermal tables in HWINFO64? I want to try setting my own as suggested above but not sure what to put down but if I was reading the tables correctly the GPU fan was sitting at least 4200RPM with the GPU on 62C
