Yup. Sounds about right. Lowest GPU temps you should get at idle are 55C. 65C when under game load is pretty good too, but you might not be stressing the GPU much. Under near full load, GPU should hit 70C-75C.

those temps sound ok...because when you are gaming, you are running the 7970m...getting mid 60's with the 7970m while under load is good.

When you are not gaming, you are running the HD4000 integrated graphics which idles high

just get yourself a few bottle caps and your temps will drop 5-7c

Tidoy, i never had to reboot when i switched, but maybe things are different in the R4

I used two small wooden blocks. Works great, but eventually I will get a notebook cooler.

It doesn't seem right to have to reboot after switching graphics to the discreet card. Investigate it further.

Love the bottle caps! I used to have some vintage ones xD

The M17x R4 doesn't need to restart if the card is Nvidia; for AMD you might have to.

I'm also getting the reboot prompt, so maybe it's an R4 thing.

Slick, where should I apply my bottlecap.mod file? All 4 corners, or just the back?

LOL...such a simple thing, but is so effective

    lol @ bottlecap.mod file lol

I only have it on the back two corners...that gives me a comfortable typing angle

My Idle temp is around 33-35'C - LOL
when i play diablo 3 temperature jumps to 61
    when i play metro 2033 1920x1200 ultra, after 5 minutes i get 85'C

 but it stabilizes on this temperature and fan remains at 70%
this is with cooling pad sw-OFF, didnt test with it ON lol.

I really dont know if it should reach 85 in metro 2033 at all, what if i would run furmark ?

    I use ICD 7

i may used too much thermal paste but i saw clearly that heatsink sits on the metal bracket perfectly. So paste spreaded nicely...i donk know...another repaste ???

    Are this tems normal ?

    i am R2 owner ofc.

    cheers
