    8 gigs single stick ram?

    is there any ram that is 8 gig per stick that is compatible with the m17x r3?

    upgrading to 32 gigs would be nice

    highly unnecessary but it would be something to boast about lol

    Yes from Samsung I believe.

    Side note: You need Win. Pro or Ultimate if you go higher then 16 GB.

    8GB is more then enough for most users, performance boost is very little to non if you go higher. Better to spend your money on an SSD.

    A better question would be, why do you want 32 gigs of RAM? What tasks are you doing that would require more then 8gb?

    Dont forget that you need a processor that supports so much ram, the 2720QM for example only supports up to 16GB if I remember correctly
