Just sharing the results.
16GB of ram feels like nice refreshment....
Quick and easy test shows there is almost no difference between those 2 memory modules.
Corsair CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10 Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz CL10 Enthusiast Notebook Memory Kit
Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Laptop Memory Model KHX1600 C9S3K2/8GX
I know, i know, no details about the memory timings and so on, who needs it anyways, just see the RAW performance results.
This was NOT supposed to be IN-DEPTH test![]()

Not to be a bubble-burster, but:
In the m17x-R2, the chips won't be running at DDR3-1600 speeds. They'll be running at their specified JEDEC timings for 1333MHz speeds.
16GB vs 8GB is only useful if you actually make use of all those extra 8GB (which is highly unlikely for most applications).
They're both high-performance products - performance differences will be slight to non-existent.
That being said, I'd still love those 16GB for future-proof reasons as well as bragging rights -
