I apologize if this question has been done to death but a quick search didn't yield any clear results. I'm looking to max out my m17x's RAM and I wanted to know what brands or models people have had good experience with. I'm running a 920xm with dual 5870s, so this is pretty much the last bit of hardware I can still upgrade reasonably.

    Thanks in advance.

I use G.Skill. They have great RAM IMO. I mean I know it's not the same thing, but this is the only RAM that works stable when overclocked at 1000MHz with CAS6 timing. I don't know if it means anything, but to the M11x R1 it showed to be quite stable. :)

Ditto, currently using two 4GB G.Skill RAM sticks.

Some people like to use Kingston HyperX RAM though. I think either is fine, I doubt RAM is like SSD's/HDD's in terms of which is considerably faster than the other. You just choose the more reliable company.

Kingston HyperX XMP - as you have an xtreme cpu, you can utilise its extreme memory profiles.

    Kingston KHX1600C9S3K2/8GX
