Hi, So i got myself an M17x R4 motherboard which i know completely works despite being second hand and it was cheap! Anyway, It will boot with my aging 6990m in it and detect it, So i know that isn't the problem

I know the R4 board was compatible with sandy bridge cpu's so i'm still using my 2920xm boots up no drama can even overclock the bastard.

I have a KNOWN working Clevo 970m that i pulled from my other laptop, Got the nvidia Alienware heatsink, Set it to UEFI pure (So no legacy) Slapped it in annnnnnnnnnnnnd its not detected

No idea how to make it be detected either ive tried a dozen things

when you say not detected, what do you mean ?

Not in bios ? Not in device manager ? Or shows up in device manager as "microsoft basic display adaptor" ?

When your in windows do you have the HD intel ? ( I assume yes) if you have the OSD and AWCC installed try and switch over by hitting Fn + F5, maybe changing graphics mode will help you.

Sometimes the cards don;t show up in bios, but still show up in windows albeit it sounds like it makes no sense.

You could also try updating your bios. here is A11 unlocked : https://www.dropbox.com/sh/z51983o9ybrvrtr/AADt7t3t2MD3EE6QGu1YdWuIa?dl=0

also, what vbios does the card have, do you have a picture of the card for us, whats it's history, i.e where did you get it, how long have you had it etc, where else have you used it, any details could help.

aLready using A11 unlocked, It was pulled from another machine i have, No idea what Vbios version it is using, i've had it since new, Came from a p177sm-a an optimus machine that kept breaking it's hinges due to the hinges connecting to the machine right on the heatsinks and becoming brittle hence the desire to just transfer the card

Go into bios, find where it says GPU or graphics adapter (forget the syntax) you will know because it offers these options AUTO, SG, and PEG.
Let me know what you have selected there.

I would tell you to put it right away into PEG mode, but if your bios is not set to UEFI perfectly, it will give you beeps and you will have to reset it etc...

So while your there, in bios, check your UEFI settings.

Make sure your in UEFI, legacy mode is NOT shown anywhere and disabled, and securom and fastboot are disabled or not shown as well.
