I have a 970M in my M17X R4, as we all know, there is no 3D VISION option. But I hear that, remove nvidia 3D IR emitter, shut down and boot with Nvidia 3D WIRED GLASSES connecting, the 3D VISION option will be appeared. Is it true?

Can't say but I never knew there were wired versions! I was told that plugging in the external kit emitter returns 3D as well but the guy disapeared before I could confirm if it was on his 120 panel or a DP connected 120hz monitor?

    Hopefully someone knows about this?

I did try to buy a used one last week but got outbid :(

I upgrade my m17x r4 with gtx 970m also 120hz is perfectly working except for 3dvision.
Will be looking on this thread for more ideas from other members.

I think they may do it. I think the steroscopic sub-menu is somehow disabled if the card is not in some sort of internal BIOS list. I'm guessing it's to do with licensing as the 3dTVPlay software (built into driver) is a pay-to-activate feature if you do not buy the emitter kit or an OEM installation. The menu should be there simply for the 'Discover' option that works at 60hz but it's just not installed at all.

I expected to see 'Discover' in my new machine but no, no options at all :(. If I could find some of those glasses on ebay for for a cheap price I'd give it a go, I miss my 3D gaming and now I have cards that can chew it up!

Edit: Not available in the UK :( http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/buy-wired-3d-glasses-uk.html
