Take his settings and lower the voltage until yours is no longer stable at 4ghz and then bump it back up a couple of steps.

that's how you overclock man. Every chip is different. Some overclock to high heaven and some not so much. Takes some trial and error to figure out which settings are optimal for your CPU.

Yeah, but at 4.0 ghz it's less then 4.3 or 4.5 that it's running at many other i7 4930mx...that;s why I want mine to go 4.0 only

An "Extreme" processor handles often lower volts at a specific clock frequency better than standard processors(mq).

    Use xtu.
Run standard adaptive Vcore on 1.200v with 4x40 and cashe 39 with default volts, then you are absolutely sure your bios does not go to no post.
    Referance clock = 100MHz
Turbo boost short power max = 90
Turbo boost power max = 90
    Core current limit = 112.000A
    Processor current limit = 112.000A
    Disable turbo power package lock

With these settings you can not do anything wrong. Low clock frequency, moderate volts gives low temperature.

Exactly what temps depends on your chip, paste and heatsink. I believe for this system you can keep it below the 80s unless you stress test it though.

I will have an I7 4930mx with CLU paste in a Alienware 17R5...temps of speed 24/7
The game I am playing now over 10 h /day is using over 90% of my cpu and the max temp of i7 4700mq 3.2ghz 4cores is 75c.
I want to see 4.0 ...4.2...4.3ghz ...how they handle the heat...
