Wait. Where are you seeing it for 1124? Mine only shows it at 10% off(1349).
-
It shows that on the main screen but when you click on it and go to configuration it show the bigger discount.
-
It's 10% right now, right?
-
-
-
How are you getting it for that price? That config is well over $2000
-
10char -
I mean how can anyone get it at that price. The config in the OP post is over $2000
-
-
-
I can, I'm not part of the air force you realise that, just a student.
-
-
Wait do I need to join the Air Force or not? Because I may very well consider it.
-
Your best shot is to find a relative or a friend who can help you out. Otherwise, try calling and haggling like a young kid. It works for alot of other folks. -
I will say I miss the discounts,...but that's 0.000001% of it. -
I dont know anyone in the Armed Forces unfortunately, anyone that would be able to order willing to help?
-
-
Ok thanks for the info
-
-
Yeh I'm trying to get someone to order one from US and get it to me. Either that or pay at least double the price to get one from here.
-
-
Yeh Dane has offered to do it, might just take him up on it, need to sell my M15X first though. Anyone interested? It's in my sig, it's a real powerhouse.

I ordered one this morning off of Aafes and the discount wasn't that large. It must have just changed this afternoon.
-
Dookie, you sure make the rounds, don't you!
I just checked the AAFES website, and sure enough, when you configure the system, it comes out to a 22% discount, which is not what they have on the top-level page. -
Place to sell laptops on these forums. I'd be interested, but my fiance would kick me out of the house if I tried buying another Alienware right now. Unless you were way undervaluing it, which I wouldn't want to do to you. -
Hah temptation is a bugger. I know about the marketplace, about to post it there now.
-
TurbodTalon Notebook Virtuoso
That is a significant discount. You could make a pretty good profit buying them from Aafes and then selling them here in the marketplace.
-
Turbod, you're going to call and get the better price, right?
-
TurbodTalon Notebook Virtuoso
Can you do that?
-
You ordered through AAFES, right? Call Dell Order Support and tell them to cancel the order, or re-do it with the current discount.
-
If you cant get one through aaefs, I recommend calling. The least you can get by calling is NBD, which I've heard is worth like $60+
-
TurbodTalon Notebook Virtuoso
Yeah I ordered through Aafes, and I just reconfigured it a couple of times. I could either get the 6970 or the 1080p screen for nearly the size of the discount.
-
-
Dookie, what do you mean "As long as your grand total comes out to be under $1450"? I didn't know there was some kind of cap.
-
TurbodTalon Notebook Virtuoso
What Rick said. In addition, am I going to need to cancel my order, or will they fix it? And do I call Aafes or Dell?
-
Turbo, call Dell and ask for the current 22% discount. If they won't do it, cancell the order, and re-order through AAFES. I understand you have, like, 21 days after you recieve the unit to cancell the order. It's never too late. If you have a problem, PM me and I'll give you the email of the AAFES Customer Rep I've been dealing with.
-
-
The current 22% discount applies to the base price, and to all the upgrades. Just like my wife tells me: "The more I spend, the more I save!"
Keep in mind, these discounts can change from day to day. I ordered a new XPS 15 the day they came out (22 Feb) at 25% off, and the next day they were only 10% off.

Dell says that I cannot cancel my order until Monday. Let's just hope that the discount is still actually there on Monday. Plus, I've got to wait for the funds to get back to my account, which is even more time for the discount to disappear. One of the first things I'm doing when the R3 shows up is slapping that 6970 in my R2 and seeing what happens.
-
To be safe put it in your cart on the aafes site. They keep the quote for five days.
-
Yay! It's showing for 1124 now. Saved over $660 so I upgraded some things. Thanks a lot, OP.
-
This is a good thread, but maybe might want to move discussion to Order Status.
-

Semper Fi!! -
Damn cant make decision.
Keep x9100 280m sli
or go R7 with 6870
I'll lose performance but will have upto date system.
Really want 120hz but dont want 460m... -
You mean x8100, correct? Moreover, why wouldn't you get the 6970 card to justify the system upgrade?
-
Have extreme x9100 dual core.
I havent seen benchmark for 6970 yet so im sticking with 6870.
Also its extra 195 bucks.
AAFES R3 base config $1,124.25
