AC Adapter not charging mod? Anyone sell a dead adapter?

“Dell AC power adapter type cannot be determined” solution

has anyone tried this mod on an M17Xr3

i am thinking of doing this as my adapter is doing this and cant afford the 101 euro dell want to replace it.
i have cut the adapter open and soldered a new wire in but it keeps cutting out due to the very little wire i had to work with other then that the adapter is fine

looking for some advice here and to know if anyone had a dead adapter they are willing to send me or for me to buy off them

and to know if anyone knows where the chip is on the adapter or if there is a BIOS mod out there to turn off the throttling of the system when it cant talk to the chip
from the research i have done though it seems like it cant be done via the BIOS

this is ridiculous i cant you my laptop to its full potential just because dell dont want people to use 3rd party adapter

 

What BIOS version are you running?

 

unlocked A08 as i have a sata3 SSD
i was using unlocked A10 with the sata fix when the charger stooped working but i flash back in case that was the problem i was using it for a week just, but it turn out to be that middle wire was kinked and frayed.
