I did the upgrade and haven't had any issues other than the intel graphics driver not installing properly through windows update which was fixed by downloading it directly from intel then installing. http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3319&DwnldID=22082&ProductFamily=Graphics&ProductLine=Laptop+graphics+drivers&ProductProduct=2nd+Generation+Intel%C2%AE+Core%E2%84%A2+Processors+with+Intel%C2%AE+HD+Graphics+3000%2f2000&DownloadType=Drivers&lang=eng
I also installed the 310.54 Beta driver from nvida Drivers | GeForce which seems to run better than the 306.97 WHQL driver.
I have the modded A12 Bios that still allows SATA 3 speeds Downloads.
I haven't had any problems with the screen, but i am running the gtx 460M not the 580m
not sure if that info will help or not, but it might be worth a try if you haven't tried already.

alright thanks. I am now using the A08 official BIOS which is working very well. it doesn't even give problem with the intel driver. I don't know if I should do the A12 BIOS (modded) or just stick to the one I have right now. also I want to know everyone else's BIOS version, so I get an idea of what really should I switch to. btw do you know whats the difference between A08 and A12?

    thanks

Running fine with the stock A08. I Also tested the A08 unlocked. No problems whatsoever.

Any one should be fine but I've seen many success stories with the A08 and A12
