Hi everyone I got a little problem with my laptop.
To put it simple it lags in World Of Warcraft.
First here is my Spec
PROCESSOR : INTEL CORE I7 PROCESSOR 2760
MEMORY : 16384MB (4X4096) 1600MHZ DDR3
HARD DRIVE : 256GB SSD + 750GB 7,200RPM
GRAPHICS : 2GB GDDR5 AMD RADEON HD 6990M (ATI Drivers 12.3)
As you can see this Machine is build to run MMO games without a problem, yet I get lags. I get small lags with normal questing in wow, and big lags when I enter BG's. I have all the settings at Ultra but this game is 7 going 8t years old, so sorry but Ultra should be ok.
On other note I played Mass Effect 1/2/3 last months no lags (or I didn't notice). I tested GUP in 3DMark 11 and got like 3,5k and 14,5k in 3DMark Vantage. So I don't think it is GPU problem To me it seems that drivers don't let the Gpu run at full speed in wow.
Did anyone here had a problem like this or something. I did find one post about a problem like but the answer to didn't not help me.
Thank you all for help.
PS. I am very sorry for my poor English.

Perhaps you're having some latency issues? How good is your internet connection? If you use wireless, what wireless card do you have?
-
I don't think so. Got 24/2 MB (24 down/2 up) My wifi WIRELESS : EUROPE KILLER WIRELESS-N 1103

-
I used Dell Drivers got the same problem, that is why I change to 12.3. But nothing changed, that is why I am looking for answer. I think a Clean and Full reinstalling of Windows might Help without any Dell Drivers or Apps but I am not sure if this Laptop can fully work without any dell software.

it is probally lag....not on your end, but on blizzards end....
-
I am 100% sure it is not Internet Problem on mine or Blizzard end, at a lower end Computer Asus N71 I never had that problem

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
TBH, the newest WoW updates and everything, you can't just buy any run of the mill laptop and expect to play high resolution and ultra. Sure classic WoW and Burning Crusade are very old and you don't need high end specs to run that, but after Lich King and beyond, you do NEED decent specs to run WoW. And btw a AMD 6990M = desktop 6870 underclocked, so it's only entry level high end desktop GPU.
But those specs SHOULD run WoW without major lag issues. -

1) run the game on a wire instead of wireless. If the lag continues, you at least know that it is something do with the computer. You want to remove the wireless connection from the troubleshooting equation
2) if it is still lagging when you are using an ethernet cable, then reinstall the ATI drivers
Your computer will kill WOW. WOW does not take a lot to run it at the highest settings. Your specs will run WOW at 60+ fps -
Have you tried using Leatrix?
-
the killer 1103 drivers automatically apply leatrix fix. (tcpackfreq and nodelay)
bolko7, when you say lag do you mean bad ping or fps?
when talking about mmo's people throw the word lag around too much, blurs it's actual meaning. -
Ok, Thank you for all your help but all the things you are suggesting I did already. And nothing help, last thing to do is reinstalling windows. I just wanted to avid it. Oh well, life is brutal. One more things can I turn off Intel GPU from Bios ?? I just don't Trust ATI drivers to work well so I want as little things as possible working with them

You have to be clear with lag. One poster asked if it is low FPS or high latency. Both of this can cause the frame or screen to freeze or jump that may seem like its lagging. Check your UI in game and see whether you have low FPS or high latency. I have a 15/5 connection which is lower than yours and I have normally +/- 40ms latency and it works well for me.

My Latency is around 50 both world and Home. and Like I said it is probably drivers being messed up so the best way is a clean reinstall of Windows. But thank you for trying to help me. Cya

Put a cpu widget on your desktop and when you start to lag, check your widget to see what cpu use is at.
Google Chrome has been a big issue in a ton of forums I frequent. It has a issue with Flash/Shockwave using 100% cpu. -
OP, WoW is coded really poorly from what I understand. PCs that can run Crysis on max settings have trouble maxing out WoW. It's annoying, but we have to deal with it.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but...
Make sure you aren't tracking any achievements. Also, make sure you don't have any achievements "expanded". By this, I mean if you go to the achievements UI (default keybinding is "Y" to bring up the achievements UI), and if you click on any achievement you will notice that it expands a little bit to show the objectives of the selected achievement. Make sure that NONE are expanded like that.
There is a nasty bug with the achievements UI that was reported about a year and a half ago that has never been fixed. Tracking an achievement (or just having one selected) - even while the achievements UI is hidden - will cause massive lag spikes for most people. Even those with very powerful systems.
Some achievements are worse than others. It seems that the ones with lots of objectives are more punishing than the single-objective achievements. Limnologist for example is one of the worst.
Give that a shot before you go shuffling drivers and stuff. -
compare it to other mmo's to see what i mean.
comparing an mmo to an fps is apples to oranges imo.
