    Why scammers ?
i bought 6970m from them and 90% of R2 users have bought from them as well, all very happy, including me :)

Upgradeyourlaptop is basicly Eurocom company, just on ebay lol

So te Official relase of 7970M is on 24th of April, and in 2 weeks from now we can buy the card on ebay.

If we get a eurocom 7970M could we flash it to Dell vBios? or we can keep eurocom vBios?

Heihachi you keep asking hypothetical questions. No one will know for sure unless someone acquires one and tries it out.

As to attempt answer your questions, sure it is likely that the Dell vbios will allow certain features such as audio over HDMI and such but no one knows.

I bought one Notebook from eBay seller 'upgradeyourlaptop'. Bought Clevo Barebone p170hm (Eurocom Neptune non 3d screen)with AMD 6970m wich was dead. After one month I solved this trouble through eBay resolution center. He send me new one by RMA. Also there is a vary strange description in his videocards on eBay. It says "no returns" because too many people send him DOA cards wich was new and was checked if they work before shipping. So if he will send bricked card there is no way to return it. Also some man PM me about his 6990m wich was bought from Eurocom and was dead too. Their support give him RMA#, he send card and nothing. Simply dont answer to his emails. Thats man (upgradeyourlaptop)working in Eurocom. I send my card to Eurocom Corp. Canada. So be carefull with Eurocom. Some people satisfied some are very dissapointed in this Company.

If you buy from Ebay and he says no return, that doesn't mean anything.
If card is doa, open a case and Ebay will back you up for sure.
Been there, done that.... Ebay always sides with buyer when dealing with faulty merchandise

First of all, upgradeyourlaptop is indeed Eurocom's eBay store.

Second, they post the No returns accepted line because many have bought cards from them without checking compatibility with their systems and declared DOA when the cards were actually fully working. If you are honest they will work with you in case there's something wrong but i'm not saying they are great.

    Yes, this is true @Katalin.
I imagine, that some of them OC'd the cards and bricked them, then they wanted new card or money back.

    Look at their feedback.

And i would do the same on their place, would you ??

Guys, you can wait for a 7990m, but the 7990 may not happen. The 7970m is already 100W. What are they going to do with the 7990? increase stream processors? The 7990m will have to be a completely new design so i'm not waiting for anything

7970m will be 65-70w. Its not official but looks like true because of new memory chips which need less power for the same perfomance.
Here is a link: ÏÂÒ»´ú¸ß¶ËÏÔ¿¨È«¹æ¸ñ¼°ÐÔÄܱ©¹â£¨AMD Radeon HD 7970M vs NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M£©_´÷¶ûAlienwareÍâÐÇÈËÂÛ̳
    Look at 3dmark 11 score 4500-4700 =) Great perfomance for 70w.

One more interesting link: Tech ARP - Mobile GPU Comparison Guide Rev. 13.0

Beta drivers for Windows 8 available on AMD which support 78xx/79xx series. I think for mobile solutions we will see when they will be represented.
Hope it will be true and prices will be reasonable )

from what I understand they work fine but with a few minor issues. We shall see what comes up when someone pops one of these into an m17x r3. Till then nobody knows. ;)

Edit: Ill also try to come up with a decent guide on how to also upgrade your GPU. I went from a 460m to a 6990m, and from what I have seen so far the 7970 will be no different other than installing different drivers. :)

Hmz, I like this quote the best:

Hmz perhaps don't offer machines at lower prices than you can do. If they tried that stunt in the UK they would be breaking the law. No matter the discount you have you MUST be treated the same as any other customer regardless of the price you pay.

Well I'll be definitely interested to see someone try this in an R2. My 6970's are running like champs and I have 0 complaints...but that doesn't mean I wouldn't be tempted if they worked and the performance was significant enough to justify the cost.

    Not bad for laptops

I wonder if heat will be reduced but since it's 100watt i don't think we will see that much of a reduction

you can even put 2*7970m in it with a litlle undervolting i guess

ya, should be between an amd 7850 to 7870 desktop

For those that only know Nvidia...that's desktop gtx 570 territory. That's faster than 560ti

That's pretty darn good in a laptop

I suspect Nvidia will do better with 680m though

650m (which can be used in 11inch laptops and upcoming clevo) already pass 560m scores, heck can even maybe pass 570m scores when overclocked

Still if 680m was much better the gap between desktops and laptops is getting smaller and smaller year after year

I remember the days of @lol gaming laptops mockery by people :p

it will be close. I doubt the 680m will be that much better, if at all. There's only so much you can do with 100w...

either way, i will assume that the 680m will be cost prohibitive when they first come out

Slick is probably right. The GTX 680m will be way overpriced when it comes out. However, I'm hoping for the ability to overvolt both cards. The ability to bring things close the the desktop speeds. I mean with an OV, the 580m was able to achieve 560 Ti speeds. If the 7970m OC's well, then I'm hoping it will hit desktop 7870 speeds :)

The 680m looks to have the same specs as the upcoming GTX 660 (all rumoured of course). And I bet it could hit the same specs with an OV.
