AMD Catalyst 11.9RCx is now out:

There doesn't seem to be a change log so give it a try and post your problems (if any) here.

Edit: In my Monday morning haze I must have accidentally posted the wrong download link! I've since corrected the link thanks to Devillucifer.

Been using the 11.9 RCx's for a couple of days in my R3 (6990M). At stock clocks, very nice gain in Vantage (+150 to P14,560) and more modest boost in 3dMark11 (+25), but decline in 3dMark06 (-100 to 20,515). Overall, seem more stable than the Cat 11.6-11.8 releases when installed over the Dell July 29 6990M drivers. No black screens, freezes or BSOD's so far. Installed smoothly over the Dell base driver set for a change. YMMV.

Change the boolean value for the "workaround" to true in the .cfg file for the installer.

Edit: So, I found the work around that aarp was talking about, but the install doesn't seem to do anything for video drivers. :/

do complete uninstall through device manager, then clean with driver sweeper in safe mode, then clean the registry with ccleaner, then do the intall. This should exclude all possible problems

So, I have just been installing the 11.x drivers for months without having to use the workaround anymore...has that issue crept up again? Or did it never go away for some people?

Awesome they installed, but I black screened and had to blind restart though. Do CAPs come with this as well?

mm ... i think those issues can be fixed from A08 bios update.
    i tested it on dell driver, 11.8, 11.9 ... all working (Fn+F4/F5)

yes its working just fine, so far so good.
i heard they saying something about little improvement in Hard reset (Game), but i don't have that game to test yet,
    and nice review (ur signature)

Thanks for confirming, looking forward to installing the driver.
I do have that game in demo (lol) so I might fire it up before I sleep and revert if I see any "improvements" :)

PS. cheers for checking out my link :D

Sorry guys! I was just following this thread AMD Catalyst 11.9 RCx (8.89 August 10) Win7/Vista/XP/Mobility (Mod) - Guru3D.com Forums where it says that the driver that I posted was "Modified to work with all cards." Then below it shows all the mobility cards that will work for it...but I must have selected the Win 7 version (hence the desktop version) and not the mobility mod. My apologies!
