I hope that this version of the driver has fixed some of the issues in Skyrim with the 5870M cards.

I'm currently using the unofficial 8.95 (12.x) beta driver, which has been the best with Skyrim for me so far, but even that it rather flawed. The default Crossfire profile causes nasty flickering, which looks like alternate frame rendering but with one of the cards only rendering part of the image. I'm currently running a custom game profile that uses only standard AFR, and it works well except for a yellow-tinted background in some screens.

I'll try the official 12.2 preview as soon as I can (hopefully tonight) and will post back with results.

Have you had any luck with these new drivers? I'm a bit hesitant as it took me ages to get 12.1 working properly with my 5870s.

    crossfire working great on 6970's.

also looks like a skyrim improvement... or that could be the 1.4 beta patch, i'm not sure (i suggest enabling it in steam settings!), but it's definately improved with over 80% usage on either card. hurray no more stuttering.
seems to be as stable as the 12.1 previews (which was my best one so far) with a few improvements, best driver yet!
    thanks +1

Installed without BSOD. BF3/BF:BC2 working fine. iGPU switching working without a glitch. BTW I didn't try to uninstall previous diver, just overwrite it using 12.2

    I concur!

Installed on Xfire 5870's without any issues and BF3 is running much better (I'm using "high" instead of "medium" settings).

Didn't install properly over the 12.1 previews.

Second go with a clean install and they are working perfectly.

Same as Rypac - although I think I still had some left over issues from the 11.11 / 11.12 BSOD drivers (R2 here).

I got a BSOD when uninstalling the 11.10's but after a complete wipe with driver sweeper and a couple of restarts mixed in I got the 12.2 preview drivers going.

Seems to be a noticeable improvement in SWTOR for me so I'm happy. Haven't had opportunity or desire to test anything else yet.

    Cheers for the link OP!

No BSODs here, CCC is working beautifully. With 12.1 drivers I couldn't even open CCC so this is a huge improvement for me.

Can anyone confirm if the 5870 crossfire flickering in Skyrim still exists with the 12.2 drivers?

I still get pretty horrible flickering when I press *escape* for the in-game menu but everywhere else is fine.

Unfortunately the flickering in Skyrim still exists with these drivers.

I also couldn't get the custom profiles to work to disable xfire for Skyrim. So had to install radeonpro to do it.

Custom profiles used to work fine on 12.1 preview.

Dont install the 8.95, i get no CCC, installing with same method of 12.2 pre.

Tested 12.2 pre, seems better than 12.1a in bf3 at least for me.

Installed this driver with no problems.

I did do an uninstall of the 12.1 previews prior to the install. It seems to run the same, if not better. Skyrim still doesn't use enough of the GPU's, but it feels slightely better.

You use 12.2 CCC? Everytime I use 11.8, 11.9, 11.10 I got insta-BSOD on atikdiag.sys or some other ATI sys file. I had to system restore it back to a previous version.

12.2 installs fine for me (using full uninstall/install procedure), no BSODs, CCC works alright, but texture flickering in Skyrim is so bad the game is unplayable. M17x R2 w xfire 5870s.

noticed fps boost in bf3 with about 10% over the 12.1. Plays pretty sweet with about 40-60 fps native res and ultra settings MXAA off. I could not be more happy! :D

Played both campaign and online with same settings.

Took the level Operation Guillotine and average fps was about 50-60 fps i think. Played a quick map on Wake Island with about on 45-50 fps average.
1920x1200 and all Ultra but MXAA off.
The cards are both overclocked to 800/1100, maybe that is were it's at.

I don't know why you get flickering on skyrim but for me work Like a sharm , i never installed driver past 11.10 due to bad review and i Did Now with this 12.2 and then work great!
Performance is increased in skyrim and swtor but most important I got better graphic effect on both games , like reflection now on imperial fleet floor Is like walking on a mirror I can see everything reflecting , while with before driver I couldn't
Ah I had a flickering problem once with dell drivers and i resolved using advance sistem care , I let the program cleaning my pc and everything was fine after
    Ah I have a m17r2 with 2x5870

Hmm...I'm still running on the last drivers verified by Dell. Any reason for me to upgrade at this point? The only problems I've really had are with Civ V with the random crashes, but I don't think that's been fixed yet?

This driver still has serious flickering issues with Skyrim when using the default Crossfire profile. Using a custom AFR profile works better, but still isn't great.

I've reported the bug using AMD's tech support contact page. If any of you are seeing driver issues, I'd suggest that you contact them as well. They'll take more notice if more requests are logged.

Skyrim flickers for me when CF-X is ENabled, not when disabled. I was able to control some of that with editing the TESV.exe profile in the Control Center performance manager. never found a setting that was perfect. But changing that might help you get rid of flickering (or at least change it).

You can fix this issue by increasing the Windows Page file or Virtual memory size. I had the same issue running two AMD 5850's in crossfire.

Congrats Psyloid! I hope it stays working for you. As a warning, though, that if you get heavy into the mods, some cfx profiles can cause the game to crash when it is not the default TESV profile. Those that require the script extender at least. Still, congrats :)

And to anyone else still having problems after upgrading a driver. Be warned that unless you wipe clean the last driver, all edited profiles in the CCC will remain and not take advantage of the new profile from the new driver. So clear out your custom profiles before installing the new driver.

Hat-Trick, what driver are you upgrading from, and what do you do to remove the old driver (if anything)?
