Wow! A new driver to try!

Is there like a big difference compared to the 8.982 one? :)

This 9.001 Catalyst drivers is actually performing rather good, nothing special but it’s improving. Overall, it performs better than 12.8 WHQL.

This just fixed Morrowind Sound and Graphics Overhaul for me! :)

Every single driver, the textures all flickered and flashed and would only "work" if I was running on integrated graphics (And I would only get 1-2fps using those haha). This just completely fixed that problem. I can now play the Morrowind overhaul. Thanks.

My Battlefield 3 performance seemed pretty stable as well. Just sort of around 55fps on ultra 1080p.

55 FPS?! :O Wow that's good!! I only get 35-60 FPS on the Ultra Preset with V Sync turned off.

My fps never dips below 45 on BF3 with my 7970m. This just made it never dip below 50. At least it didn't during the entire one hour I tested it today. So Morrowind is beautiful now and BF3s performance increased for me. Haven't tested anything else but so far these drivers are FANTASTIC if only because I can now play my favorite game Morrowind

This driver is wonderful. A friend of mine used it with 12.8 CAP3's. Borderlands 2 Crossfire worked with no corruption, and they DID indeed fix the GW2 grass corruption when changing graphics settings in game. (7970 xfire)

EDIT: If someone has problem running CCC with these drivers, try to install CCC from 12.8.

Wow, it really never dips below 50 now? Everything on max like Ultra? That is pretty good! I'll try this driver now!

Can this be installed over top of 12.6 with a 6990m? I might not have time to try in the next three weeks, or I else I would give it a go now.

For my 7970m, I express uninstalled Catalyst Install Manager. Then enabled hidden folders and went through program files and program files x86, user data and so on removing all ATI/AMD folders and then CCleaner to clean up the registry and then gave it a reboot and installed these drivers and it worked perfectly.

Alienware 7970m users: Each new driver=more performance increase, as expected.

Sager 7970m owners: Still waiting for any performance increases.

    I am really, really jealous.

I've just installed these drivers over 12.8 on 6990m. Working great, CCC working fine, as well as Enduro.
    No issues so far.

Installed on my system, it works fine. Looks like a good release and finally it fixed my secondary card idle clocks at startup.

    I'm happy :D

Not so sure if I shall update or stay with the 12.8 on the Alienware M17x R4 with a 7970M. So far, the 12.8 is the most stable driver I ever had, and it seems like it is OC friendly.

stick with what works good for you :)

i personally like these drivers, they fixed an annoyance that i had with 12.8. But if 12.8 works ok for you that's fine. Remember by the way that it is just software, you can give them a try and revert back if you are not satisfied, nothing will break apart :)

Well, on this drivers, 12.8. I only get 40+ fps on BF 3. I dont get it why people are getting 60 fps and just having a dip to 50 fps. Is it a faulty card or some descriptions on youtube are exaggerated? :p

    Hey guys!

I have 12.6 right now and all I really do is beta test Planetside 2 or play competitive Dota2. Do you guys think upgrading to this driver would be a good idea? Currently I get 50-70fps (depending on the scale of the fight it may even drop lower) on medium settings. I would definitely want to run on max settings as the game looks beautiful and has a video recording feature. My friends says to wait till its out of beta to mess with drivers as it works well enough that I experience no chugging or real fps drops that are noticeable during huge fights.

Current when I try to run CCC to upgrade the driver it gives me BSODS and I am forced to restore to a previous point. I downloaded the driver package already. Any guidance on how to install this thing or can I try to install over my previous 12.6 driver which updated from CCC when installing new driver 12.4 which installed over 12.1, and 11.8 :D

First of all uninstall all and do a clean ccleaner, driver fusion or Atiman Uninstaller, then Try these. Select 2559 during the unpacking for intel drivers.

Just uninstall the catalyst completely through control panel and run the above setup. There is no need to roll back any drivers.

But what if I installed this 9.001 one and didn't like its performance. How will I get back to my 8.982 one? Can someobe clarify? I'm quite lost. What is 12.8 and what is 8.982? I'm puzzled! I thought I had the 12.8 one installed? :S

ok, its simple. 12.8 is the name of Catalyst version including driver version 8.982. Similarly 12.9 is the latest catalyst version including 9.001 driver. If you dont like 9.001 i.e 12.x, you can uninstall it and install 12.8 and you will get 8.982.

    Question regarding driver installation.

Are all you guys installing these various newer drivers over the top of the initial Dell 6990M drivers which support the integrated graphics?

I've had a lot of trouble recently installing drivers. Through the 11.x series I just stacked each successive update on top of the previous (which was on top of the base Dell 6990M drivers) without issue. However, it seems like I can't successfully install anything past 12.4, even when using driver cleaners and installing straight on top of the Dell drivers. The issues I have installing/using the 12.4 and newer drivers are crashes/reboots during display driver installation (this seems to happen even when successful, just takes two attempts), still running old version after successful installation (check via GPU-Z), and issues starting CCC (won't launch at all).

Right now I cleaned everything and am running the most recent AMD driver package from Dell (the one released several months ago for the 7970 I think). It works ok, but I would really like some advice on getting the newer versions to install since that driver is quite old. Is my only option to uninstall the Dell driver and use the AMD drivers by themselves with no graphics switching?

    Thanks!

    Well that's weird, weird.png

How come my Catalyst Driver is still 12.8 even though I updated it to 9.001?

Here is what I did, I clean uninstall everything then installed 12.8 by following the steps mentioned here
And after installing 12.8, I installed this 9.001 over them. Graphics switching is working and performance in many games has been increased.

If your driver version is 9.001, then its fine. Catalyst doesn't matter since its an unofficial release.
