    I finally found an e9550 on the net in MXM format. It appears to keep the standard MXM layout and I am tempted to sell my 1060 to try and get one of these working.

    No, if you really want that, get a WX7100 for like $350 off Taobao, also its gonna perform worse than your 1060 anyways
