Quick question, as I'm contemplating returning my just arrived (6 days ago) m17x r3 for a m17x r4...

    I can't stand optimus, I want dedicated graphics 24/7.
I currently have the 560m GTX, and would be returning for r4 with 7970m.

Does AMD graphics switch automatically like Optimus, or can you set the dedicated card on and leave it. I'm unsure how AMD and the F7 button works...

The new R4 should have auto switching like with the nvidia cards. At least we can assume this unless Dell decides against it.

If you don't return it you will always wish you had. Dell does wave restocking fees if you give a good reason too.
