So they're up- thoughts and/or feedback from the community on how they run? Nothing noticeable so far for me, but have been busy enough to not have done much testing.

Link here for installer, am sure someone will put up a direct link soon.

I've been unable to get the 11.7's to even try to install just keeps saying invalid hardware, using a 6970m.

The 11.8's will install but act like nothing is installed, just reverts to a Windows standard driver.

Could someone tell me their idea of what a proper way/order to install the drivers? Also could someone tell me a way to verify the drivers have even been installed. I just ask because I notice that when you look up the driver version it doesnt say 11.6, 11.7 etc. Also I ask because I have a feeling these are not installing, my brightness fn keys still work. Thx in advance.

So with all that said... Could someone tell me what "driver version" should be listed in GPUZ perhaps, if indeed have 11.7?

If Cat 11.7 is installed the display driver is reported as 8.87x (several versions available - 8.871, 8.872); Cat 11.8 Preview is 8.880.3. Easiest check is GPU-Z and Catalyst Control Center>Information>Software (Catalyst Version).

The current Dell version is of course 8.851.2, which would be a Cat 11.5 derivative.

Any ideas then? I have tried installing the 11.7 over the Dell ones. It looks like it installs but it never really does I guess.

Strange.. also just curious.. Which drivers do you use?

make sure you have the mobility drivers. when i first got my alienware with ati cards (yes i was a nv fan) i would download the drivers, it would look like it loads but it didn't. i had to do a mobility search instead of just looking for drivers. the ati site will only show desktop drivers if you didn't specify that you needed the mobility ones.
