    hey guys!

I have been using driver version 12.6 for along time. For awhile its been asking me to update to 12.9 but every time I did that I would get a blue screen. Today 12.10 was available!
Anyone have a good driver link for 12.10 or is it okay to just update from the program?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :D

Planetside 2 came out today. Great game. I think I am experiencing some video driver issues. Anyone know where to get the best driver for the 6970m ?

AMD/ATI website ? get the latest drivers, still a relatively new card so they should support it, could try the beta drivers as well since they are new game specific usually with decent perforamnce enhancements.

I download and install all my AMD drivers directly from the AMD website. 12.11 beta drivers are also available and I've been running them for at least a few weeks without any issues at all.

It's also available directly from the AMD website:

    AMD Catalyst

    Hope that helps.

Thanks for the link. For some reason navigating the website and finding the proper driver is always hard for me...they end up not being able to install and send me back to the dell site for old drivers =[

Is there a non beta version? Or is it just as stable? Also I am on 12.6 can I just simply install the new drivers over? Or should I go through the proper steps uninstall and sweeping until there is no more amd driver?

12.11 has been out for quite awhile and has been very stable for me (for some reason I've always had better luck running the beta drivers then the most recent certified drivers). 12.10 I believe is the most current stable certified driver...try linking to it here:

    AMD Catalyst

As far as installation goes, I've always had the best luck just installing the driver and allowing the installation program uninstall and upgrade the driver. I know a number of people would recommend uninstalling and sweeping, but I've never personally found it to be helpful in my case. I'm certain there are people who will disagree, but that's just been my experience.

Good luck with the install and hope it works out well for you. :)

I get random grey screens with the latest official 12.10 drivers. Did not happen with the default I had when receiving the laptop from day 1. After uninstalling the drivers the grey screen issues went away.

I'll admit that I skipped the official 12.10 drivers and went straight from the beta 12.10 drivers to the beta 12.11 drivers. For some reason the beta drivers have always been more stable then then certified drivers...makes no sense at all, but that's been my experience. 12.11 have been very stable for me at least on game playing (WoW, Diablo 3, XCOM, Crysis 2, among others).

I have experienced the grey screens just browsing or sitting at the desktop. I am not sure why it kept happening. I guess I will wait for the next stable release to see if the problem goes away.

I just installed these beta drivers but my dxdiag still says my drivers version is 9.10.8.0, and even in the installation it says the driver is up to date but the version is 9.x not 12.11? Is this meant to be like that or have I done something terribly wrong.

Meant to be that. I have the R3/6970m and getting BSODs installing this .... not sure how you got it working.

Well something I've recently discovered with installing using these catalyst control centers is that I have to make sure to install using the setup in the "bin64" folder otherwise things go bad and I lose my switchable graphics.

After you download the 12.11 file and it unzips to your hard drive somewhere, open the folder and navigate to the bin64 folder and install via that setup (if you're using win7-64bit).

This was the only way I could get catalyst control center working on any of the drivers.
