Hi all,
Looks like AMD has posted the latest 11.4 mobility drivers to their website.
Just installing now, so will let you know how it goes
For those who'd like the link it's below:
ATI Catalyst? Mobility Display Driver
Also 11.4 CAP1 profile has been released as well
http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/crossfirex-app-profiles.aspx
*update* installation went great, no issues. Both 3dmark and 3dvantage see a small improvement
in scores. Haven't had a chance to test it with any games specifically, but so far everything looks
to be running fine.

Something doesn't seem right for me, can one of you guys check your driver version using GPU-z for me? When I try to install even using a workaround it reports that it's 8.800.6.000 which is older than the early preview 11.4 drivers.

Are there any sleep issues with this driver?

Just updated to Crysis 2 1.5 patch, CCC 11.4 & 11.4 Cap 1. Now I have HUD flickering!! The gameplay is smooth at max settings now...
When is this multi-gpu nightmare going to end with Crysis 2(PC)? -
So, I booted up Crysis 2 to see if I was experiencing the flickering, and I am not. However there are a few key differences that might explain this. One is I'm only running Crysis 2 1.4 patch and I also only have the 4870M in a crossfire configuration. So I suppose either of those could be the difference. Will be interesting to see how others experience with this as well.
11.4 and 11.4 cap1 drivers -
Maybe someoane posted in another thread, but how can we use this driver for 6970M? On my side it seems it doesn't recognize the video card and thus installation failed.
-
If you download the full package you can install it on a 6970m however I believe the driver update was left out for the 6970m. The reason for this is if you choose custom installation and highlight the selection for Driver Update, it will inform you that the latest driver is already installed. Basically, everything will install except for the driver update itself, which isn't the behavior you want.

oh boy!
why can't i install this ? I had the same probleme with the 11.3 and so i had to stick with 11.2.
After de-install i rebooted into safemode and erased everything via driversweep and CCleaner. Than i boot up into win7 (64) and install the driver but after i reboot there is no CC/no HD5000/no crossfire.
What the hell am i missing here? This is some annoying sh*t!
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
EDIT: Is it because i was using "express-installation"? -

de-install via win7 (ati-pop-up appears and i express-deinstall all ati-related things). As i wrote i used DS and CClean. It showed me nothing related to ati after i was done!
I am still trying to get this to work. ATI sucks so bad.
My last ATI-Cards...i promise you. How can you puplish something screwed up like this? -

Just a thought but I recall other people having issues with this and it turned out to be a .net issue from recollection. CCC requires this to be up to date.
Have a look here Microsoft NET Framework 3.5 is required to run Catalyst Control - Microsoft Answers and also check that you are up to date.....might help out!
The latest .Net Framework 4 is available via Micorsoft FYI if you dont have it installed. -
great thx.
will give it a shot -

As usual, here is the direct link to offline installer, 11-4_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl.exe, 85.76 MB: https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/DRIVERS/mobile/11-4_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl.exe, or www2.ati.com/drivers/mobile/11-4_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl.exe.
The link ( ATI Catalyst? Mobility Display Driver) provides the download for the online installer, which is in turn downloads the very same offline installer as mentioned. So, just download the offline installer, and skip the unnecessary step of downloading online installer. -
same BS over here
ati-drivers....it is just a sad story....
back to 11.2, which i can still install without any problems. It even comes with actual DISPLAY DRIVERS unlike 11.3/11.4. -
So is this safe to install? My specs are below
-
What are the differences you guys are getting with these drivers? Anything significant?
-
Honestly, my experience from a 3dmark and 3dvantage (which granted aren't "real" world differences) have been minimal. A bit higher but nothing significant. Crysis 2 seems to run smoother although I don't know if that's related to their upgrades, the driver upgrade, or a combination of both. World of Warcraft runs great (but always has), and a few other games seem to be running well. Again, I personally haven't seen anything notable that stands out, but others might have different experiences then me.
-
For everyone asking about the 6970, the answer is NO, you can not install this without a modded INF. if you do the install all that will get updated is the CCC and you will still be running your current driver. This is not what you want to do.....my question is still, has anyone found a modded inf yet and if so, please link.
EDIT:
I stand corrected...this link www2.ati.com/drivers/mobile/11-4_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl.exe
does include the hardware id for the 6970....great find...how did you even get this link...i couldnt get to it directly off thier page..i could only get the 79mb package without the drivers? -
No flickering for me in Crysis 2 using clean install of 11.4 and 11.4CAP1.

this link worked for me,too!
That link from ati and the other one on page 1 did not work. dont know why.... cost me 3 hours of my life
Thank you so much (+rep).
HUD-flickering in crysis 2? YES a lot ! but who needs the hud? -
Odd I don't have any HUD flicker at all
-
Could anyone upload the same picture as I did... just to see the differences? If there are any?...
Thanks! -
It fixed a glitch i was having in BFBC2 where using MSAA would make the water disappear and the sky go gray. Works great with SC2 and ME2 also. No problems at all so far, with the 11.4 preview, i was having occasional crashes playing SC2.
-
WAY worse performance compared to 11.2 on SC2.

Is there a way to get the 1.4 patch reinstalled? -
Wow...so sounds like the 1.5 is the culprit (or at least in combination with the 11.4 drivers)
Sorry, I wish I knew how to downgrade to 1.4...I was lucky in that mine only auto upgraded me to 1.4...makes me think I'll do what I can to avoid 1.5 until 1.6, comes out
Anyway, good luck and hope they get it sorted out soon! -
Has anyone noticed BC2 flickering? Or blackscreen with the new driver. 11.3 has been horrible.

Download Crysis 2 Patch 1.4 - This is the latest patch for the game Crysis 2 - Softpedia
Everything is PERFECT!!! No flickering or HUD flickering!!! Thank you!!
I tried to give you rep but it said I need to spread some around first. If I forget remind me. -

I hope you get your flickering/black screen resolved. -
Hi skygunner!
Awesome, I guess uninstalling was the way to go. Now I definitely won't plan to upgrade to 1.5 anytime soon. +1 rep for you for verifying it -

Back to 1.4.
I am so satisfied with this combination(11.4CCC, 11.4 Cap1 & Crysis 2 1.4) and crossfire performance...FINALLY!! What's nice about the 1.4 patch is that it doesn't make you update to 1.5 to play online. With Vsync disabled I average 78 to 55 fps in extreme and with Vsync enabled I average 60 to 55 fps.
I can't tell a difference graphically between Very High & Extreme.
For some reason I get the same performance regardless of which mode I choose.
I can't wait to get my SSD and 920XM!! -

Finally got around to updating my drivers from 11.2 (11.3 went by me I just didnt bother with them lol)
Must say, very impressed thus far. I have installed 11.4 and 11.4 CAP1 and done a few "tests"
3dMark 11 up over 200pts from 4001 to 4214(all stock with no OC of any kind)
Ran the in game Metro 2033 benchmarking tool...very pleased again...can run at very high 1920x1200 w/out DOF enabled at 30fps average or 20fps average with DOF enabled. Also, can run it with everything maxed with DOF disabled and can hit 24 fps average!.....I like Metro as a test as its soooo demanding and if i can get these figures (which for such an intensive game, is great, i think - i also like to think of Metro as the ultimate in gaming benches)....i wonder what those of you with a xm and throttelstop can get! - if anyone can post up some figures, i would love to see. I darent try it with everything maxed "and" DOF enabled as I would cry lol....although I might do just for kicks...
These drivers seem to kick some butt...... -

BSOD when I try to switch to Intel graphics...is switching working for others on the new drivers?

Even though I am problem free at the moment with my 5870M CF, these inconsistences between similar hardware is why I'm holding off on a M18x purchase until a 485 SLI config. is offered.
-
I will of course give it another try if you think safe mode will make a difference.
Edit: Tried it with Safe Mode. Here are the steps I followed:
Downloaded www2.ati.com/drivers/mobile/11-4_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl.exe
Uninstalled everything ATI related.
Safe Mode
Driver Sweeper
Reboot to Windows
Recheck Driver Sweeper to make sure there is nothing left.
Run the Setup.exe from the extracted file downloaded above.
Reboot
Try switching graphics
Blue Screen!
Did I do something wrong? -
-
I have the mod early preview and so at they are working great, I will test this Official release by the way; got a little question, some of you are talking about Ati 6970, it is possible to use them on M17X R2?
-
Hi, I'm new with alienware's laptops and I don't know which steps I should take to upgrade my 6990M to the latests drivers availables.
I should download a specific modified driver for my gpu?
I'll lost my IGP option if I install not official dell's driver?
Thank you so much -
Something went wrong installing those drivers, i've downloaded and installed this package: ATI Catalyst? Mobility Display Driver
But, after installation this dont ask me for reboot, after manual reboot the software is installed but im istill on VGA drivers, i did the usual, uninstall, reboot, driver sweeper, etc; whic is the right package, the one above or this one ?: ATI Radeon? Video Card Drivers
Thanks
