Hello, I have a problem when trying to update to the new 11.5 catalys control center directly from the AMD website, I get the following error:
ATI Catalist Mobility cannot be downloaded due to incompatible hardware/software on your computer.

The version of your graphics card is not suported.

Please contact your notebook manufacturer for a graphics driver update.

Any help would be greatly apreciated, currently all my drivers have been downloaded from the alienware web site. My system is running fine by the way.
It is just anoying not be be able to upgrade to the latest CCC.....

I have a question and maybe its out of topic but can I update my AMD Catalyst™ Display Driver to version 11.5 directly from the AMD website? I keep getting errors........
"ATI Catalyst Mobility cannot be downloaded due to incompatible hardware/software on your computer.

The version of your graphics adapter is not supported.

Please contact your notebook manufacturer for a graphics driver update."

Ive already started athread on this but just thought I should ask on here since its driver related :)
    Thanks!!

you can, but not off that main site....hunt around in the forum and you will find a direct link to a download that works....install it over the top of your existing drivers.....there is some quirky-ness for some though using reference drivers......for example the FN-F4/F5 to adjust brightness may not work and i cant get it to use my external monitor.....if you want a slightly newer then stock driver, the M18x driver works perfect....but to be honest, there is very little performance gain using reference drivers at this point...good luck

check a few pages deeper in the forum and you will find a link to a driver that works....but to be honest, stick with the stock....the reference has a few known issues with the Dell 6970

I'm sorry just one more question what do you mean when you say "reference" drivers? Thanks for your help! :)

a reference driver is provided my AMD....its a referference for manufactures to use and customize....dell make little tweeks to the card to make to work the way they want....therefore reference drivers are not always the best choice for a dell system since they have a nastly little habit of messing with thier cards like in the case of the 6970

Never mind! I was able to get them working again by completely uninstalling the reference drivers and they applying the stock drivers from dell. :D

Use Windows Mobility Centre to adjust your brightness.
