i have resolved this problem by returning it to dell and getting a new replacement. i am so fed up with dell sending us faulty laptops. for a $4000 to $5000 laptop i expected much from dell. having to go through all this hassle of repair/replacement/return/driver issues is just not worth it. honestly, i have never seen a laptop with so much problems and thanks to this forum i know im not alone.

Before you go through the RMA process, open the system up and verify the card is properly seated in the system. Also verify the crossfire cable is fully connected. A lot of people on this forum have received laptops with the cable loose. Simply checking the cable might save you a lot of trouble.

Check which mode you were in (Full power or Stealth mode). I had the same problem as you when I try Crossfire, only one GPU was in use and GPU-Z show the same thing (Disabled ( Crossfire available). I use the program HWiFON32 and it show my cpu was at only 1.7 GHz which is stealth mode. Switch to full power mode and CF worked.

    Was probably in Stealth mode...

Oh to count the number of posts about video card problems attributed to Stealth Mode...
