Got my Ware (17x R3) a month and a half ago.
Right after i updated the ATI Raidon HD 6970 Driver to the latest, started having problems.
im currently running the 11.4 Catalyst Control, the latest from the dell/alien-ware website.
I uninstalled the previous driver fully + clean out my registry before installing new drivers.
Problems include:
BLUE SCREEN with ati2vag warning. sudden shutdown and sound error.
Windows message saying " Driver has stopped responding and restarted"
Windows Media Player Hangs...
Ableton Live 8 Hang and produces random errors..
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had this as well. Reverted back to the Dell drivers and I stopped seeing the blue screens, but I think there were people linking the appropriate drivers to upgrade to.

Yeah its not easy to get to the appropriate drivers since there isn't a provided link by Dell or AMD but people, including myself, have gotten these to work.

In general, the install procedure has been to verify you have the original Dell drivers properly installed and then to upgrade over them. Device manager and GPU-Z can verify that the driver version has been updated. -
with my setup below, i am running 11.4 from that link.....i am living with the following issues.
cant use dual monitors when ati card is active (intel works fine)
cant use FN-F4/F5 to adjust brightness on ati card (intel works fine)
everything else is fine....gaming just fine, no BSOD here -

Well I can get HDMI from any res up to 1080p to work on these drivers. Perhaps its the displayport.

That's interesting. I've had good experiences with VGA and HDMI across all resolutions so it looks like I'll have to give the displayport a shot before I decide all is well.
I'm going to have to find a 1080p monitor and a displayport to dvi and give it a spin myself. Anyone else lose external monitor functionality with reference drivers?
