I noticed on my Area-51 desktop that the ATI 5800 series driver has an Overdrive tab for monitoring temps, speeds, and doing some GPU overclocking.

Anyone gotten this tab to appear on the Mobility series? I remember back in the day, there was a Coolbits registry setting (for nVidia?) that brought up a secret tab for fiddling with clocks, etc...

    Just wondered...

I tried unlocking it in the bios but it still wouldn't show up in the CCC.

You think it's a Dell thing or an ATI thing that is the source of the blocking? Do any of the 48xx or 58xx Mobility drivers for other manufacturers notebooks have the Overdrive tab?

The Asus guys unlocked theirs via bios. I tried doing the same thing with no luck. Dell are the ones that locked it out.

When I had the MSI barebones w/ 5870,

it showed the overdrive tab that easily tested for artifacts..
