Well my Ranger will be the most powerful system I have ever had, I have a couple ideas for mods but it will likely be my last laptop as I dont really like the Clevo options and have been a little keen on a desktop.

Clevos are a mess but the best performing laptops on the market, as you already know. Hopefully a successor to the GL702 with Zen 2 and Vega 2 comes out...

I am glad you mentioned it. I think I prefer matte over glossy!

@Rengsey R. H. Jr. is the throttling your experincing with the 1080 power throttling? It may be possible to defeat that by doing a small mod to the board. With the maxwell generation of cards you could just solder across the shunt resistors (shorting them out) to make the vbios think its always consuming 0% of the tdp / power limit but you cant do the same for pascal as they have protection code that kicks in forcing the card down to its base clock profile if it detects 0% power draw. It should be possible however to switch out the shunts (or solder piggy back another set over the top) with lower values to give yourself say 2x or 3x the power limit by making the card think its only consuming 1/2 or 1/3 of its real power draw.
