    hello everyone,
just got my new aw17, we have 220 watt current here in Pak... i changed the adapter cord but there is a problem when charging the laptop. If the laptop is shutdown and charger is attached the power button blinks light but starts charging when the system is booted up the laptop keeps charging... but if in case i remove the charger for a longer period of time while using the system and connect the charger again the charging icon blink .. meaning the adapter light brightens and dulls seems to me current issue ..some times it does start charging... plus its says Fn+f5 for switchable graphics or something everytime i plug in the adapter but it doesnt charge..? any clue on wats going on?

Hi there, congrats on your new kit!

I think you may be confusing watts and volts? The adaptors are designed to work worldwide and can operate in the 100v to 250v range so it is unlikely it's a supply issue. The usual message if the supply is insufficient is that the adaptor is not recognised. Since it is new I'd give them a call - AW should have their own direct number (hopefully) in your country.

Don't worry about that message. It comes up because the non-3d models switch between the internal (Intel) and the NV GPU. On 3D models you only have the NV GPU and on mine (may not apply to your model or card?) the switching that takes place is the NV card is throttled down on battery.

Sounds like the adaptor or the battery would be their best guess....

    Good Luck.

Edit: Just read this post, gotta be worth a look :D
