    Hi Guys,

So I have been overclocking my CPU lately and I finally reached a stable build I am now running 4,10GHz on my 4910MQ which runs not hotter then around 70'C degrees.

But now I want to overclock my 880m. I have been trying to overclock it for a while but it just doesn't want to become stable. I am not touching the voltage offset because I think that's a dangerous thing to do but if you guys can help me understand the safe zone of the voltage offset, I would love to try it !

    Specs: 4910MQ at 4,10GHz , 880m , standard PSU 230V.

Hi man, I have to say 'Don't do it!' The 880m was a notoriously unstable GPU, 8x never made desktop and was only around for about 6 months. It got such bad press it was affecting laptop sales! Basically the 880m was the 680m architecture stretched beyond it's limits.

If yours is working fine then I say just monitor it (clock and temp) to get a warning of any problems starting .

    Good luck.

I would go with what Micky said, I have the same configuration as you and I find it incredible you OC'd the 4910MQ without going beyond 70C. Mine goes above that easily, even reaching the 80s if not for an undervolt. I tried overclocking my 880M and never could efficiently do it, so I stopped since the 880M isn't so good of an overclocker.

I am thinking about upgrading to a desktop next year but if I could get a 980m for a nice price I would do that ofc. Or should I wait for the new graphical cards they are gonna release with the new architecture

What is the maximum processor temperature and result in Wprime 1024M stress test? If you have not tested yet. Here is the link to Wprime if you want to run a test http://www.putme.net/wPrime155.zip
Like others in the thread says. Don't overclock Gtx880m. This card is hot enough already. Can you run stable at default boost clock at 993?

880M is heavily overclocked 780M so I wouldn't recommend overclocking it further as some units can't even maintain stock boost clocks.

We don't know if the new GPUs will even work with the laptop or if their will be any MXM variants.

You'll end up not getting anything if you keep waiting!
