Hey every. the BIOS in my M17xR4 shows integrated graphics disabled ( runs 100% on the 7970m). I believe I did this in the BIOS when I got the machine but now I cannot remember how. Does anyone know if there is an advance BIOS option where you can enable\disable that feature?

To my understanding there is not a way to disable Integrated Graphics in the BIOS. I just checked the BIOS of an Alienware M17xR4 with an ATI 7970 and I didn't see the option. You can try to switch between discrete & integrated graphics using [Fn]+F7.

FN F7 will re-enable it with required reboot.

Yep, that was it. Much appreciated. I am having problems with Enduro so now I remember why I disabled it. With integrated enabled the 7970m doesn't work, I can set high/low performance profiles. Only way I can get the 7970 to work is by disabling the intel piece.

This does not sound right at all. I know people have problems with Enduro (I am not even sure what those problems are--to my knowledge I am not having any problems). But having to have the integrated graphics off for the 7970 to work doesnt even make any sense. I thought someone said there was no option to turn it off...so how are you turning it off to get your 7970 to work??

    *I am very confused*

What I've seen is that the 7970m gets under-utilized when Enduro is active. AMD is working on that and last I heard they will have a significant improvement in their next driver release (to be seen). It works as hard as it can though when Enduro is off so you get better frame rates an the sudden FPS drops that happens in some games (i.e. Battlefield 3) don't happen anymore.
