I am coming across some threads stating that the use of this adapter causes the motherboard to be damaged or the pin to be jammed.

Is this true? I have only heard of ear phone jacks causing this problem when accidentally put in this slot.

Has Dell still not rectified this manufacturing glitch?

You are probably the third person to ask this in the last 2 days.

    Issue is still around.

Motherboard needs to be replaced unfortunately.

They really need to fix this issue, it affects the M17x R3 and M18x...Same port design.
