I already have a 256gb SSD and a 500gb HDD, with my OS on the SSD. Is there any benefits to adding a mSata and then installing only the OS on it?

How would one go about making the fastest boot up possible with what I have already or adding a mSata?

What should be the average boot up time for what I have already opposed to adding a mSata?

Hi, you already have the fasted boot config, win load should be around 15~20 seconds (win 7). The msata just gives you the option for another drive unless you want to get a small one and use IRST to speed up the HDD. If you turned off RAID when you installed the SSD this option is not available to you without a re-install in RAID mode. And, the msata port is only sata II so slightly slower (although not noticeable in real world use).

    HTH :)

Thanks, that is what i figured. just wanted to clarify before I made an unneeded purchase.

Also, I get this black screen on boot up that shows my 2 drives, they both say non-raid drives. Everything boots fine, I assume that actually is eating up some of my boot time though. It never did that until I put the HDD in for storage. Do you know how to get this screen to not show?

That is the RAID bios config screen. It will add a couple of seconds at boot but the overhead in-use can only be seen in benchmarking.

If you go into the BIOS and change the HD mode (AHCI I think is the correct acronym) then this screen will not display. Windows should load but may well BSOD, in which case switch it back. Going from non-raid to raid bios will require a reinstall (in my experience) so I recommend leaving it alone, but give it a try if that couple of seconds is bugging you ;).

You have the best configuration possible for boot times, no need to get anything else.
