I just checked my BIOS, and it states that the current version is A06. I realise there are more recent revisions to the BIOS, and am wondering what the advantage would be if I were to upgrade to said revision.

Most of the time you can live without updating the BIOS. Often BIOS updates are made to support new hardware such as a new CPU. Sometimes BIOS updates are made to fix hardware issues.

Usually the manufacturer will list in their website the changes made to their latest BIOS. The list of changes should help you decided whether or not you should upgrade the BIOS.

When my system arrived in early August it had A06 and the boot times were awful. Paused at the Windows graphic every time. Updated to A07 and it worked perfectly. A08 came out a few days later so I went to it just because. Normally, I don't bother unless there's a problem. If you're not having a problem, then there is no reason to update the BIOS.

    Cheers.
