Thats a pretty good deal, 4870's will probably still max out your games. Check the link in my sig if your still set on 5870s. May help out. But things in the outlet tend to get sold pretty quick.

Cool, i think that the 4870 will be ok for what i play.

Im also going to purchase a 920XM ES. Should fly.

    Thanks!

i was looking at this spec earlier for $2739 before 20% off with i7 920, 8gb, bluray, xfire 5870m, RGB, $2191 with coupon. If you buy a 920xm it will cost you $400 for ES and not covered under warranty plus you get the 5870. It might be gone but keep refreshing and consider the fact that the warranty will cover the xm chip which will be overclocked and have more heat and stress

I think all the questions about Dell outlet purchases should be kept to a single thread...

    like this one...

The i7-920 is a desktop processor while the 920XM is a mobile processor. You'll have to get an ES processor from Ebay to upgrade your laptop or you can try buying it retail from Dell or other sources.

Cool. Just as long as its the same socket.

Wouldn't want to have to swap out the motherboard :)

she sweetened the deal by waiving the install charge to have a tech come out...i was planning to ask her if the tech is planning on giving me a laptop with that $2600 chip. She did say i can sell my old chip on ebay to help cover some of the expense :p

Well I'd sure as heck hope they didn't plan on making you give the old chip back with that "deal" of a price lol :p
