Sorry in advance if this is a dumb question. I've gone through what seems like all the options in the AlienFX app but I can't change the color of the glowing eyes on the lid. Currently it glows white. Can this even be changed?

You cant change that color, the light for it is from the backlight for the screen

Some people have taken apart the screen and put a piece of colored film over the back side of the alien to change it however

Yes, the Alien head on the lid is configurable, but it is linked to the power button. In other words, those two items will always share colors, as far as I know. Both of them have a dual-color option because you can have them indicate when the machine is plugged in, charging, or running on battery. You can have a steady color for plugged in and fully charged, a throbbing/alternating second color for plugged in and charging, and the second color steady for running on battery.

The configuration of the two-color Alien heads is a little funky, but I think if you play around with clicking the color swatches enough, you'll figure it out. It IS in there.

The R3 does not have the same amount of configurable AlienFX options that the R1 and R2 have. We cannot customize the Alien head color, nor have seperate lighting zones for the left and right speakers.

Makes sense. I recall seeing the option online somewhere but figured when I couldn't find it on the R3 that it must've been for the older models.

Thanks everyone for clearing that one up! Wish they kept that option :(
