So i was playing Dungeon Siege 3 and it crashed. this game suports FX colors to represent your health in game. Since the crash the icon in the task tray is stuck red and i get a warning at startup about it....i know there was a way to reset the computer some how. i tried searching the forums but to to avail....can anyone assist?

edit: if it helps, i recall the reset having something to do with unplugging and holding a button or something...i hope that helps jog anyone's memory?

I have had this problem once when I was changing the colour of the leds.

I tried to reinstall the command panel, it did not help.
I solved it by reflashing the bios.

    Power drain:
Remove your battery, your power cord too.
Disconnect the coincell CMOS battery and press the power button for ~20seconds
Replug everything and you should be back to normal.

Remember doing so reset your BIOS settings back to default state so you might want to access the BIOS menu on start up and redo your setting (if applicable).

The location of the coincell battery should be pointed in the manual.

    Cheers

I wasnt in a place where i could take the system apart to remove the battery so i tried a simple resetting of the BIOS. that didnt work. so i went into iTunes because i have the 3rd party plugin installed and started a song and turned the visualizer on. after exiting iTunes, the FX started working right. so i guess, if a 3rd party app or game breaks it, use a 3rd party app to reset it. or at least it worked in this case...thanks all.

Dark Void (the game) had this issue randomly, in my case either creating a new theme and applying it would solve it or used the Winamp plugin.
Glad to see you figured it out.
