I just got my Alienware M17xR3 Win7 Ultimate 64 bit this past August 2011, and have not had a chance to enjoy it since I got it.
Has anyone with a Win7 64bit Alienware having issues trying to make a AlienRespawn disk using AlienRespawn Basic.
I tried using DVD-RW's and DVD+RW's, and I just get a message saying the disk are not compatible.
I got so pissed with this that I uninstalled it, and was hoping to find it online to reinstall it.
I came across this site: http://dslbdownload.ddsupdate1.com/ARDownload-en.html
It check my Alienware laptop to see if I had it. No. Then it allows me to download AlienRespawn V.2.
When I tried to install it then I get a message saying it is not compatible with 64bit. !!!!
Restore Point could not recover it.

As one who has played and messed up his new laptop a few times recently I would you ignore AlienRespawn and do a clean install anyway. Get rid of any bloatware at the same time as the optimal set up.
If you haven't got a SSD in there then I, with most others here, would recommend that upgrade first.
I played with Alien Respawn, Cloning etc.. In the end I just got rid of everything and did a clean reinstall with the windows disk supplied and the latest drivers from the dell downloads section.
This takes about 2-3 hrs with all the full windows updates.
Then I just made a system image for back up.
(I did keep an AlienRespawn image on USB incase I ever wanted to use it on the supplied HDD - otherwise I don't expect to return to it) -
We have a Q&A thread on AlienRespawn (which also includes links on performing a clean install of Windows 7 and recovering the Alienware "look and feel" after a clean install) -

the link you posted is not for AlienRespawn but for Dell's DataSafe Local.
try this link:

Bottom line, if you can't recover AlienRespawn due to uninstalling it, you still have options. You can go with the clean install of W7 or you can contact AW Support. They might be able to assist.
Welcome to the forum and hope you can resolve the issue easily. If you have additional AlienRespawn q's, please post them in the AlienRespawn Q&A thread.
Thanks!
