    Hello,

I just recently ordered an Alienware 17 with a GTX 880M. I know right now is not the best time, but I really need a new laptop and I'm not sure I can wait without knowing the timeframe.

I know I can change the GPU on the Alienware, but will it be compatible with the new maxwell cards?

With adequate BIOS support and assuming they don't change the MXM standard, I don't see why not. Maxwell has virtually no feature difference with Kepler and is basically only faster and more efficient. Alienware have a good track record of upgradeability.

It should work... The new Maxwell GPU's will be MXM3.0B so that's not the main problem.. The BIOS will be the issue but generally Alienware's don't have any problems with this..
